This half day course helps delegates to understand how a client's actual UC payment is calculated, enabling them to explain this to clients, and to recognise where an error may have been made in a UC award.

About the event

This half-day interactive online-course is for anyone with a reasonable understanding of how UC is made up of different elements. It is recommended that delegates first attend Universal Credit 1: eligibility, structure and applications.


Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the rates associated with each element in a claim

  • Calculate the Housing Cost Element for different types of accommodation

  • Calculate the childcare element for those eligible

  • Apply work allowances and taper rates

  • Understand how different types of income are taken into account (including both employed and self-employed income) 

  • Advise a client about Deductions from UC Awards

  • Understand how the Benefit Cap applies to UC awards


Price:

Individual Delegate: £25.00

Block Booking Five Delegates: £119.00

Joining Instructions

A Zoom Link and electronic copies of the handouts will be emailed to delegates (or Training Manager for bulk bookings) no less than one week before the course.


Cancellation

The Customer may cancel Individual Bookings with the following penalties:

·         More than 21 days before the course date, No charge.

·         More than 7 days and less than 21 days before the course date, 50% charge

·         7 days or less before the course date, 100% charge

·         The customer may substitute one delegate for another at no notice.
