Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health

 Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health is officially recognised and regulated in the UK by statutory regulators like Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) and awarding bodies such as First Aid Awards (FAA) and the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH).  This Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health is Accredited by FAA, and administered through NUCO Training, an accredited FAA Centre.

Course Content

The course covers a range of First Aid for Mental Health related subjects are covered including:

• What is First Aid for Mental Health?

• Identifying mental health conditions

• Providing advice and starting a conversation

• Stress

• Mental health conditions

• Drugs and alcohol

• First Aid for Mental Health action plan

• First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace

The course builds towards the delivery of the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan, a five-step practical approach, designed to help learners give immediate support to someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.  

Course Materials

Delegates will be provided with a 96-page Electronic Manual containing comprehensive guidance on First Aid for Mental Health training.  The manual complements the Ofqual and SQA regulated Level 2 (L5 in Scotland) First Aid for Mental Health and Level 3 (L6 in Scotland) Supervising/Leading First Aid for Mental Health courses and serves as an ideal post-course reference book.  The E-book is:

Assessment and Certification

This course is assessed by a one-to-one professional discussion and multiple-choice test, taken in the presence of the Course Tutor (me!) over Zoom. This will take approximately forty minutes per delegate, and so delegates will need to book a slot on the few days following the course itself.   Please book as soon as possible – it is first-come-first-served for each slot. I will send out a personal Zoom link for each assessment meeting once delegates have booked their assessment slot. A Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health Certificate will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.

Joining Instructions

A Zoom Link and E-Book link will be emailed to delegates (or Training Manager for bulk bookings) no less than one week before the course. Delegates will be provided with instructions on how to book as Assessment Slot.

Cancellation

The Customer may cancel Individual Bookings with the following penalties:

·         More than 21 days before the course date, No charge.

·         More than 7 days and less than 21 days before the course date, 50% charge

·         7 days or less before the course date, 100% charge

·         The customer may substitute one delegate for another at no notice.
